The best shop in Northern Virginia to deal with all your auto related needs. They installed a transmission and clutch in my car at a really fair and honest price, gave me tips on where to get a transmission, and installed it with no issues for the last couple of months. I’ll be back with all my needs on my car and recommend this shop to other people I know 🙂

Phil and his mechanic Will always know whats wrong as soon as i bring it in. Theres none of that " oh we need to diagnose it for 2hrs" They dont jack the rates up on you and they have always been honest and fair. I wont take my vehicle anywhere else

I had a headlight out on my Honda Accord, which I know is something that I probably could have handled on my own, but I was having a busy week and didn't want to deal with it. Phil was able to fix it the same day that I contacted him. He also came to my parking lot at work to pick up the car and brought it back in about an hour, so it was no inconvenience to me to get the work done. He charged a very reasonable price and I would recommend contacting him with your car troubles, big and small.

Nobody likes having to get car repairs done, but if you have to do it, Covenant Auto Service is the kind of place you want to take your car! I really appreciate Phil's attention to detail and reasonable evaluation of what kind of work needs to be done and when. He doesn't try to sell extra repairs every time I show up with my car, but does let me know if manufacturer recommended services are due soon or if he notices a hose or something that's looking bad and then lets me make the decision. He explains why one service shouldn't be delayed and another can possibly wait a little longer, too. The only service I've ever felt even a little bit pressured to have done is my oil changes, and we all pretty much know that's the number one thing we can do to keep our engines in shape, so I don't really mind the nudge. He's been taking care of my cars for several years now.

Not long after Mr. Phil Payne opened his automotive repair facility, I took my 1991 Acura Integra in to have the muffler replaced. Three cars, and over 700,000 miles later I am still a Covenant Auto Service customer. Phil is an owner operator, and he is the only one that touches my car. Even with the Subaru dealership across the street, Phil will always work on my current car, a Subaru Outback.



Over the years I have come to not only trust Phil, but he has become a close friend. His work ethic is based on his commitment to his faith, to treat others as he would be treated; this means getting the job done, quality workmanship, friendly, and a trusted person to take care of my vehicle and family's safety.



Phil explains on the maintenance on the level of his customers. he has made maintenance recommendations and explain the why and how, to prevent future breakdowns that I have always taken. And I can honestly say, I have never had a vehicle failure on the road.

Also, if you come in with a problem and tell him you are on a tight budget he will tell you if it isn't really a big deal, or if it will probably get worse and cause problems.

Great place very honest

Phil's always polite and patient even when I have a lot of questions. Phil's honest .

I really appreciate being able to talk to the guy that actually does the work on your car, and Phil is friendly and easy going. He cares about the state of your car, and is thorough. He does not push you to do unnecessary repairs.

Phil is the owner of Covenant Auto and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He exposed the lie that I got from another mechanic in Manassas where I was told I needed to fix something when this wasn't the case. He fixed only what needed to be fixed and nothing more. He explained why he does his services to me, a person who knows nothing about cars. His pricing is competitive and I trust that he will serve me right every time. I'm glad to have found his service through Yelp.

I am very particular about my vehicles and for this reason I started going to Covenant Auto Service. I was working close by and saw the sign for Honda specialty repair. Owning 2 Hondas in our family and more in the extended family, I stopped in.

I do not take my cars to anyone else for repairs. Every time the owner, Phil, tells me everything is OK; it is. Every time he tells me something needs to be repaired; it does.

10 years ago, I changed one Honda out for a Dodge Dakota. Phil takes care of my truck also. Because of the top-notch service provided I have never had any major repairs needed on my Dodge or any of my Hondas (of which I have changed out several models; Civic, Pilot, Accord).

Covenant also cares for my extended families cars. No complaints at all. The owner has even bought some of our older Hondas.

This place was great! My boyfriend and I dropped by on a Saturday on short notice. We were shopping for a used car and wanted to get one checked out that we were interested in before deciding whether to buy it.



The owner was very friendly and agreed to examine the car (a Hyundai) on the spot. He did a great job of explaining everything about the car so that I could understand it. That might sound silly, except I've dealt with my share of mechanics who either talk over my head or speak such poor English that I can't understand them. Not the case here!



The price at Covenant was very reasonable, and it seemed like the owner did a thorough job inspecting the car (he looked at it for a good 20-30 minutes, at least). I ended up deciding not to buy the car, because there was a lot of rust damage that wasn't obvious to someone like me who isn't experienced with cars.



In summary, I would highly recommend Covenant to anyone looking for a mechanic. Friendly, fast, good communication, honest, and reasonable prices.

Phil Payne is the owner of Covenant Auto and began his Honda/Acura repair shop in the mid 1990's. At the time he was getting started, he drove through my neighborhood after normal business hours handing out flyers and discount coupons to anyone he saw driving a Honda. Since my wife and I both had Hondas and were on a limited budget, we decided to skip the inflated prices at the local Honda dealership and give Covenant Auto a try the first opportunity that arose where we needed service.



Covenant Auto has turned out to be one of the best kept secrets in foreign car automotive repairs. Covenant uses only Honda/Acura brand parts and the owner is a certified Honda/ Acura technician. I believe Phil has since broadened his service abilities and works on other foreign makes as well. But call first to be sure.



Since my wife and I are Honda/Acura owners for life, we will also be Covenant Auto customers for life. If you own a foreign car, you should be too. Covenant Auto gets my very highest recommendation!
